HUBER HEIGHTS —Allison Arnett, Jenna Roberts, Haili Long and Mackenzie Howard, on Ian Berry’s team of four sixth grade girls, spent three days assembling this energy bike. The panel in the background had to be wired from scratch. The bike now belongs to the Huber Heights City School District and will be stored in Berry’s classroom at Monticello Elementary School.

“The girls are trained to be student leaders and are able to present lessons to other grade levels,” said Berry. “It is all about energy and how it is created and used. By peddling the bike, you can create electricity and operate various items — the more electricity needed, the harder it is to peddle.”
